Before we agree to disagree, let us remind ourselves of the Meaning of Words, that we ourselves invest them with meaning, or that the meaning adheres to the Word as in the application of a label to an object, the signifier to the signified.

Hi there. We do invest words with meaning but the signifiers are linked together in such a way they form a system ... well according to my theory of language anyway which also is that of Humboldt, Meschonnic, Benveniste and such people. So yes I agree meaning is relative; it depends on the value a signifier acquires in a given system. The dichotomy between signifier and signified is a dangerous theory. There is no direct equivalent between worlds and words. Just my 2 Canuck cents! Have a great day!
